Do I need to take a test to determine my level of English?

Before starting your course, you will take a written placement test, followed by a short online interview, to assess your level as well as to address any technical issues.

What level of English do I need?

It is advisable to have a basic level of English so you can maintain a minimum of conversation. If you have any doubts, ask to be contacted by phone to arrange a free 15-minute assessment.

What kind of learners take your online courses?

Our learners have a variety of reasons or motivations for wanting to improve their English: business, work, studies, interviews, as a hobby, TOEIC, IELTS, TOEFL exam preparation, etc.

What is the minimum age to take a course?

The minimum age for all the courses with Fiona Online English is 17 to accommodate students preparing their BAC.

Can I take a combination of group and one-to-one lessons?

Yes, of course. Some people find that they need a few one-on-one lessons to complement their language training and this is entirely acceptable

Can I start my training at any time?

As long as a mutual slot for both you and the trainer can be found, then you can start as soon as you like! For full flexibility, a one-to-one course may be the best option, as you can start and finish any time, and choose your days and lesson times.

Will I need to buy a course book?

You will not have to purchase course books or any other materials. Any teaching materials or resources used by your language trainer will be made available to you in electronic form. If you wish to use grammar/vocab supports, your trainer will be happy to advise you on what to buy.

What are your opening hours?

Our learners book their lessons within the available timeframes offered by the trainers. On a typical day, we usually have time slots available from 8:30am until 6pm (GMT+1, Germany, France, Italy and Spain).

What is the cost of taking English lessons with Fiona Online English?

Prices are varied and very affordable as there are no travel costs for your trainer (or for you!). You can see details of all our prices here.

How can I sign up for lessons with you?

Do Fiona Online English courses expire?

Yes, but all our courses are valid for one year from their start date, so you have plenty of time to complete your course.

How do I pay for my lessons?

Fiona Online English requests advance payment in full and accepts payment by bank transfer or PayPal. Please remember that payment by bank transfer is not instantaneous. You must send the bank transfer to the account number which will be given to you. After one or two days, we will confirm that payment has been received.
